Our story

Something good, of your own

ikviti started with two people, Jarnail and Surleen, and a coffee shop where they spent their mornings. It felt like a home outside home. We wanted more people to have a place like that.

What's in a name?

Ik means one in Punjabi. ikviti is our play on equity: the idea that everyone who touches a cup, a loaf or a gift should get a fair share of it.

Our logo shows a smiling coffee cup with steam shaped like a growing plant, representing our commitment to sustainability. It was hand-drawn by young and talented Rhea Tamang and reflects our focus on fair work, our community, and an equitable future.

    What we do

Today we're a team of 14. We roast coffee, bake sourdough and make gifts in our kitchen in Zamrudpur, and serve them at our café in SDA Market.

    What we hold to

    Pay fairly

We pay coffee planters the price they quote, without bargaining.

    Waste less

An electric kitchen, minimal packaging, and plastic only where it keeps food fresh.

    Make room for people

A café, circles and pop-ups where strangers can become regulars.

    Come by

Have a coffee with us at SDA Market, or see where everything is made.
