The best gift you can give someone isn't in a box. It's your attention.
If you're still reading, you care. There are easier gifts out there: bigger hampers & shinier boxes that look impressive for about five minutes and then all that thermocol, those plastic trays, cellophane. glitter land in the bin.
Instead, we made a box with a few good things inside. You'd choose it because you care about the person receiving it, and about a few things beyond them too: the people who made it, and where the box ends up.
We are making gifts that you can actually use, not just pass on!
Almost everything in our gift box was made by people we've met, and most of them run small businesses like ours.
Our cups come from Khurja, a town in Uttar Pradesh that has been making pottery for generations. This year, the war in West Asia cut off the gas and factories across the country shut down. Now the kilns are running again and the workers are back, making each cup by hand. So a slight wobble or a glaze mark isn't a defect. It's someone's hand. We can't fix a fuel crisis, but every order helps keep theirs going.
“For those who care” is printed on the lid, and that's you. Inside are the cup, the coffee, a collectible cookie jar and the notebook, with one more line waiting at the bottom once everything is lifted out.
Made by hand in Khurja and used every day: chai in the morning, coffee at work, haldi doodh at night. 5% of what you pay goes to one of two organisations: Youth for Climate India or Waste Warriors.
The Manifest Planter
Plant an intention, tend it daily, and watch it grow, no matter how small. A hand-marbled stoneware pot for the green things and good things you want to nurture.
The bag isn't special; the coffee is. Tear it, hang it on a cup, pour hot water and wait. It brings good coffee to a desk, a train, a hostel room or a parents' home with no machine. We want to be part of their routine, not just your credit card bill.
A collectible glass jar of cookies, baked by Jyoti, Kishori and our bakery team. Keep the jar once the cookies are gone.
